On October 29th, Karina from aespa appeared on the YouTube channel LeeMujin Service. During the show, host Lee Mu-jin mentioned, “I heard you’re known for having an ‘AI face.’ You’re the origin of this new term, and I wanted to ask if you’ve ever thought about wanting to experience life with a different face.”
Without hesitation, Karina replied, “Oh, a lot!” Surprised, Lee asked, “Really? Are you not satisfied?” Karina explained, “I think my appearance is really polarizing. I’m grateful when people say I’m pretty, but honestly, sometimes I don’t really understand it.”
She added, “I have a bit of a sharp look, so sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a softer, rounder face. My favorite faces are those of seniors Shin Min-ah, Shin Se-kyung, and Jun Ji-hyun. They have this classic beauty vibe. For a softer, sweet look, I think of Park Bo-young. If I had the chance, I’d like to experience that at least once.”
Later, when Lee joked, “I would never want to change my face,” Karina laughed and said, “Oh, I thought you’d try for a day! But if not, then I won’t change mine either,” drawing laughter from the audience.
